A lot of people are intimidated by greens. They aren’t quite sure how to cook them and often have negative feelings and emotions towards them. Well, you can totally learn to love collard greens if you make them the right way. Collard greens are a cruciferous vegetable known to help the body fight cancer, lower bad cholesterol, support your body’s detox system, decrease inflammation and aid your digestive process. It’s time for you to start eating more collard greens! Let’s do it.

How to Make Collard Greens

What You’ll Need:
16 Ounces Cut and Cleaned Collard Greens
2 Tablespoons Garlic
2 Tablespoons Diced Shallot
Sprinkle of Onion Salt
Sprinkle of Lemon Pepper
A Spray of Olive Oil (I love using the Misto Olive Oil Sprayer)
1/4 Cup Water

What You’ll Do:
Spray a large saute pan (one that has a lid) with olive oil until coated. Heat the pan with moderately high heat and add garlic and shallots. Saute until translucent. Add Collard Greens and 1/4  cup of water. Cover and steam for about 5 minutes. Don’t overcook or your kitchen will smell weird (sulfury…). Sprinkle on lemon pepper and onion salt. Enjoy!
