In health and nutrition circles, hemp is all the rage!! (want to know why? read this) Hemp seeds are great source of vitamins, minerals, protein and the ever elusive plant based omega-3 fatty acids. So to help you incorporate more hemp seeds into your every-day diet, I’ve got a recipe that quick, easy and incredibly hemp healthy!
What You’ll Need:
2 Large Ripe Bananas
1 Cup Oatmeal (I use Bob’s Red Mill Quick Gluten Free Rolled Oats)
2-3 Dashes of Cinnamon
4 tsp. Manitoba Harvest Hemp
Optional Additions: Walnuts, Unsweetened Cocoa, Maple Syrup, Unsweetened Shredded Coconut, Blueberries…
What You’ll Do:
Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees. In a large bowl add peeled bananas and oatmeal. Using a potato masher, work the ingredients together until fully combined. Heat a small skillet or saucepan “toast” the hemp hearts until brown and add a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mix the hemp and cinnamon in with your banana and oats. Next, add in whatever oatmeal cookie “enhancers” you fancy. Place spoonfuls of cookie batter on a lightly greased cookie sheet (I use coconut oil). You should get around 15-18 cookies. Bake for 10-15 minutes to achieve the desired level of gooeyness and ENJOY!!
